Saint John Free School

The SJFS school recognizes that education is a gift and a mutual pursuit. We are all teachers and students who have much to give and receive. Bearing this in mind, SJFS aims to be as inclusive and accessible as possible. There are no fees to attend, complete freedom of speech will be exercised and multi-generational participation encouraged.

The mission of the Saint John Free School is to facilitate the sharing of skills and knowledge while strengthening community and networks within Saint John. We hope to encourage discussion and action surrounding important issues and empower community members to make positive changes. We strive to be open & non-hierarchical in structure and accessible to everyone, regardless of age, race, gender, financial resources, academic background, etc. Although the Saint John Free School is starting out as a one-day event, it is our hope that we can foster a collective of engaged community members who will continue to build the free school project.
